I am hoarse ...

from screaming like a 12 year old girl at the Boyz II Men concert!

They were amazing! I was worried that they were going to be old and not the same Boyz I have always loved, but they still got it! I loved their tribute to Motown and all there great dance moves! SO GOOD!

It helped me to relive the sadness of my "best friend"  from middle school Stacy (not her real name, but want to keep her anonymity just in case she stalks my blog) inviting then uninviting me to the Boyz concert when we were in 7th grade. I was so sad because I would sit in my room and sing "End of the Road" to the cute boy Richard (his actual name ... and if he is stalking my blog he needs to call me!) who rode my bus. I have never truly gotten over it, so it was nice to finally see them tonight.

There is something very therapeutic in singing "End of the Road" at the top of your lungs.

And a note to the creepy Italian guy behind me who kept singing in my ear very loudly and very out of tune. When the Boyz sang "I'll Make Love To You" and sang the line about taking off clothes, they didn't mean you. And I (and everyone around me) would have appreciated it if you would have kept yours on. And no I don't want you to give me a back rub creepo!

Shutup!

Thanks to my friend Becky for sharing this. It cracks me up! Really?! Who is going to buy tickets to that?

Dear NBC,

Thanks for having Luke Russert work on the convention. It makes the loss of the white board a little easier to take.

Latest Music Obsession ...

I am loving Jason Mraz.
I am loving this cd. It is pretty much playing constantly in my car. Some great tunes with some beautiful harmonies.

Crazy Work Antics ...

A few hilarious moments from work the past few weeks ...

*A patient came up to me after her appointment and asked me if she could use our restroom to change. I said sure. She went out to her car and brought in a large duffel bag. She was in the restroom for quite awhile. When she came out she was in a renaissance gown, a cape with a sword hilt on her belt and a crown on her head. She smiled at me like everything was normal and said goodbye. (I'm pretty sure she wasn't going to her job at Taco Bell.)

(This made me think that a great gag would be to do this and then walk out in a mascot/character costume, wave and walk out the door. I should write for candid camera!)

*An older woman (who we will call Wanda) came in for a procedure. After the assistant took her back the following conversation took place.
Wanda:  How long is this going to take?

Linds: About and hour and a half to two hours

Wanda: Well in that case, can you sit me up so I can unhook my bra?

Did she not realize she was still in public?!!  Who lied to Wanda?!

Did Anyone Watch The Hills?

Did anyone see Spencer compare his fight with L.C. and her posse to Israel vs. Iran ... Puh-lese!!! Spencer get over yourself! (But, thank you for shaving off that creepy flesh covered beard.)

This Is Not Okay ...

This makes me angry! Movies with talking animals are not appropriate!

A Little Something ...

Here's a little vid that the cousins shared that I loved ...

(If you like this ... check out his American Idol Loser song!)

World Domination ...

That's right. Tonight for the first time ever in my life I won RISK! Now you have to understand that this is a game we take seriously in my family and it is played at every family function ... usually until the wee hours of the morn. Tonight at cousin game night I won. And I couldn't be happier!

Old School

I remember spending hours playing this game as a kid with my girlfriends. Now you can play it online

Matt and Al

I am an avid TODAY show watcher. I especially love the antics of Matt and Al. I LOVED this one! And I especially love the cameo made by Brian Williams ... who believe it or not is actually hilarious! (I don't know that from personal experience ... just from when he was on Ellen and SNL.) Enjoy.

I Can't Stop Laughing

Just watch ...

Depression

Today my coworker pulled out a grey hair from my head .... So depressing!

Favorite Moment of the Week ...

We have a crazy patient who came in this week. She likes to linger by my desk and make me uncomfortable by staring and making awkward conversation. This week she spiced it up. I turned around for a moment and when I turned back around she had put an extra large jar of peanut butter on my desk and was eating out of the jar with a spoon! Heaven forbid, you come to the dentist and ignore your protein cravings for the 45 minutes you are there! She is crazy!

To The Man Walking Across The Crosswalk in Front Of the Gateway Shopping Center

You caught me shimmying in your direction. It was not intended for you. I was feeling the tunes and was grooving to the beat. The shimmy overtook me and the rythym got me. I was not purposefully trying to catch your attention. But I am glad that you and your friends got a good laugh out of it. Glad I could make your day!

Goin' Granola

Don't let the title deceive you into believing that I have decided to quit shaving my armpits, only wear Birkenstocks, or protest with Green Peace. You know me better than that!

I'm talking homemade granola peeps!

Court and I decided to make some this last week. I went to Good Earth and bought yummy pepitas, sunflower seeds, dried cranberries, and almonds. Then we popped in The Music Man (the one with Kristin and Matthew) and got to work.
This was the fruit of our labors. We got 2 big bags!!
And now I get to have this for breakfast every morning. I couldn't be happier!

How To End A Long, Hard Day

At the end of a long day I want to take a nice hot bath and eat some eggs and toast. Why you might ask? I'll tell you why.

Because that is what Nancy Drew did! When she was struggling with a case (and Hannah Gruen was away) she always destressed in the tub, dressed into a great pair of slacks with a coordinating cardigan set and had eggs and toast. It is how I carry a little piece of Nancy with me. Now if only I could find my own Ned Nickerson ...

T.C. (True Confession)

I cannot watch male gymnastics. There is just something unnatural about it that gives me the creeps.

One Of My Favs ...

I love this show!! It has become a fav ...

Enjoy ...

Thanks to Dal for sharing this video. It made my day. And bless the kind soul who put it on you tube to be enjoyed by all!

Go Team USA!!!

This was the greatest moment! My roomies and I were on our feet screaming at the top of our lungs. We beat the French!!! And it was an AMAZING race. Watching Michael Phelps when it was all over was so fun. He was cracking me up. I LOVE the Olympics!!!

Olympics!!!

Tonight is the Olympics people!! I am so excited!!! Today in my car I listened to "The Impossible Dream", "This is the Moment", "One Moment In Time", and "The Star-Spangled Banner". I know ... a little over the top, but I couldn't help it. I'm SO excited, and I just can't hide it!

Dear John Edwards ...

I am ashamed of you. It is because of people like you that my generation is so complacent when it comes to politics. It is because of people like you that we do not trust politicians and get annoyed by the whole process. Shame on you. You disgust me.

P.S. I donated $25 to your campaign. I want it back!

Wants vs. Needs

Contrary to popular belief, I am not a big shopper. I am happy to go into a store and get what I need, but I am not a big window shopper and dread hours spent in a mall. But I always have a little wish list of splurges that I will one day allow myself. A girls gotta dream.

I need one of these ... especially with the cute black and white polka dot lining. It is just too adorable to pass up.

After playing beach bingo last week, I have decided I need a fun old fashioned bingo set. I don't really have a use for one, but I've already envisioned a cute party with an old fashioned bingo theme ... with everyone drinking lemonade out of mason jars, and a pie bake off!

It is true that I have fulfilled a life long dream by finally finding a replica of the cute orange juice decanter that the Keatons had on "Family Ties" (I know ... it's sick, but I had to have it. Alex P. looked so cute with his little shot of OJ). But i think these are adorable. I love glass containers. It's an illness.

And one day I am going to buy myself this entire set because I LOVE it!!!

(P.S. Sorry for the underlining. I can't figure out how to get rid of it!)

You're a Chicken Nugget!

Mia loves to call people "chicken nugget", whether in laughter or anger. It is always her name call of choice. it cracked us up the whole trip. I had to get it on video!

(Notice she is being sucked in by Emily to join her in her Eric's fry addiction!)

A Week In Paradise

A continuation of our week in Catalina ...

Mia in front of the fountain in the main plaza. The very same fountain that Mike Seaver stood by when he went to "Spain" on a fabulous episode of "Growing Pains". Betcha didn't know that it was actually Catalina!

Emily was VERY happy to find that her favorite place, Eric's On The Pier, was still open. They supported her french fry habit about 2-3 times a day.

This cracked me up when I saw it. They allow very few cars on the island, and even limit the amount of golf carts allowed. Most people who live on the island have golf carts, and so apparently that is what kids drive when taking drivers ed. Can you imagine eventually having to drive a real car when you got to the mainland? Can't be an easy transition!

Corbin loved wearing his snorkel mask, just not in the water.

Mia loved playing in the sand, and taking her swimsuit off!

There was also a crew there filming a new TV series called 26 Miles. We watched them shoot a few scenes.

We had a great week, and we were all sad to board the boat and come home... back to the mainland and back to reality! And back to wearing make up and doing my hair! Sad day!

Catalina

Beautiful Catalina! I love it! It is so nice to relax, lay on the beach, catch up on some reading, and not do your make up or hair for a whole week. It is one of my favorite places to be!

Jake rented a golf cart and we drove around the island. I found a few little "villas" that I wouldn't mind living in for the rest of my life! And the views were stunning.

Mom and Mia hanging out at dinner.

Corbin, Dad and Emily at Antonio's Pizza place. The kids thought it was pretty cool that you could throw your peanut shells right onto the floor!

Corbin throwing back a few ... don't worry. It's root beer.

Bon Voyage!

As you can tell from my sisters faces, we were all very excited to get on the boat and head over to Catalina Island. It is one of our favorite vacations. We loaded up the car and headed to Dana Point early on Monday morning to board the Catalina Express. An hour and 15 minutes later we were landing in paradise!

Mia was more interested in what was in the camera rather than getting her picture taken!
