Someone Is Plotting Against Me ...

I have been to 3 stores in the past few days and everyone is out of my fav kind of english muffins!

What is up with that?
How am I going to live without my nooks and crannies?!

In Every Job That Must Be Done There Is An Element Of Fun ...

I have a lot of goals for 2009 ...
and in fact I have already accomplished a few.
(I'm not messing around this year!)

Many of my goals center around organizing and purging things out of my life.
(It's that part of my mother in me!)
I had a four day weekend last weekend and decided that it was time to tackle my magazine stack and organize everything I have ripped out.

You can't go wrong with a stack of great magazines,
cute file folders,
a Route 44 Diet Coke with Lime,
and Dawsons' Creek.

I got tons done and fell in love with Pacey Whitter.

(I have never watched Dawsons' Creek before and must say I am hooked.
It totally reminds me of high school, and I laughed when I heard Katie Holmes use the word "glib". Little did she know the trouble that word would cause her later on!)

Last Friday Hell Froze Over ...

or pigs flew.
Use whatever phrase you want,
it was a bad day ...
because when I got to Sonic to order a drink
this is what I heard through the drive up speaker.
"Sorry, ma'am but we are out of Diet Coke."
WHAT??!!!
How can that be?

It's probably because it is most Mormon moms' drug of choice.

Needless to say, it was a bad afternoon.

Latest Addiction ...

One my latest addictions is online shopping at Etsy. So many cute things!

I have already purchased

this,

and this.

This is the purse I am carrying around that my lovely parents bought (off etsy!) for me for Christmas.

I love all of these cards.

I could buy anything from this shop,
And I have always been a fan of her stuff.

I really could spend hours perusing all the great shops.

Question ...

Do you hate winter as much as I do?

Live From New York ...

NPH was on Saturday Night Live. He was fabulous. This was one of the many skits I loved.

Ross the Intern ...

I LOVE Ross the Intern. He KILLS me! This little clip from the Golden Globes is one of my favs. Thought I'd share ...

Randy, Paula and Simon ...

So I have always been a HUGE American idol fan. I never miss an episode. But the last few seasons, my love for it has started to wane. It is on almost EVERY night for 2 hours. I don't have that kind of time! I'm too busy watching this, and this and singing this in my car.

Luckily, the other night when I returned home from church meetings, my roomie Court gave me the 10 minute version of that nights show off the tivo. She showed me the cute kid from Utah, the quirky awkward nerdy kid who had a great voice, and the blind guy (who I instantly fell in love with). He had such a gorgeous voice! But then, did you see Ryan Seacrest try to high five the blind guy when he came out with his ticket to Hollywood?  They had just showed a whole montage about him being blind. He's blind Ryan! That means he can't see you high fiving him!

I'm sure I will eventually get sucked back in ... but probably not until it is only on twice a week for an hour each time. That I can do.

Me and Bette Midler ...

As I was watching this vid that my cute BFF Em Larsen sent me today to cheer up my day, I realized one thing.

I am SO grateful that You Tube wasn't around when I was 11. Otherwise there would probably be a few videos out there of me playing the piano and singing my heart out.

When my parents would  leave me home alone with my siblings, or by myself, I would put on my favorite shirt with the long chiffon sleeves that I bought at Charlotte Russe, open every window and door in the house, and play (out of my big note movie songbook)  and sing "From A Distance" at the top of my lungs.

I just knew I was going to be discovered.

I Can't Stop Listening ...

to this...
I love them!
I've been listening for weeks and cannot get enough.

I love their voices and their stylized sound.
Brilliant.

Manic Monday ...

It is amazing how a good radio station playing "Let's Hear It For The Boy", "Uptown Girl" and "I Just Called To Say I Love You" can make my manic Monday seem bearable.

I would die without music!

Sunny Side of the Street ...

I saw this video on one of the blogs that I stalk and I loved it! Such a sweet sentiment that makes you stop and think for a moment ...

Rubber Ducky ...

Tomorrow is National Bubble Bath Day.

You can bet I will be celebrating!
(And looking just like the photo above ...
you know ... with my goblet...
and my Turbie Twist.)

Shout Outs For Today ...

* The first shout out goes to Mother Earth for deciding to send some sunshine today. It had been snowing since 11 am on Monday! My 15 minute commute had turned into a 90 minute commute with the icy/slushy roads. Today the roads were clear and I was able to speed! My fastest speed the last 2 days was 40 MPH. (My lead foot was starting to feel left out!) It was nice to drive around and not feel like I was going to slide off the road. I sang Ace of Bases' "The Sign" in honor of sunny driving time.

*Next is Dustin at Target who REALLY wanted to make sure I found the right cell phone car charger (so much so that he followed me down every aisle even after I told him I could find it myself!). He was VERY chipper and REALLY excited to help. He LOVES his job!!

*Next is this woman that Court (aka H.O.T.S /Hairstylist of the Stars) and I saw at the grocery store.

That is some really big granny hair!
(Court was the fabulous stealth cell phone photographer.)

Snow, Snow, Snow ...

There is a lot of snow! It will not stop!

I just arrived back from California last night
and was not prepared for the blizzard.

I wore cute loafers to work today and had
to walk outside in ankle deep snow to my car
at the end of the day.

I was sure I was going to lose a toe to frostbite ....

and then I got mad thinking about how
it would ruin my fabulous pedicure.

Latest Addiction ...

I CANNOT stop playing this!!!

If you are looking for me, I am probably curled up on the couch lost in geography land!

Because I Am Still At Home Visiting My Fam ...

And because I share a bathroom with my brother who likes to practice his dance moves while he is in the shower...

I have a lot of downtime while patiently waiting for him to finish.

Today I watched this while waiting ...

And also watched this ...

Even Though Tom Cruise Makes Me Want To Vomit ....

I actually really enjoyed "Valkyrie".

I even forgot for a little while that it was Tom Cruise ...
the arrogant man who called my boyfriend Matt Lauer "glib"
and jumped on my girl Oprahs' couch.

I loved that my boyfriend Kenneth Branagh was in it!
(although he is starting to look old)

Ken and I actually have the same size hands ... I figured that out on a high school field trip to Planet Hollywood.

My mom and I were discussing on the way home how good the guy who played Hitler was and how much he looked like him.

Imagine my shock and surprise when my mom showed me who the actor was that played Hitler.

David Bamber.

Better known as Mr. Collins!!!

Who knew!?!

He was really good.

Valkyrie. I highly recommend it...

But you don't have to take my word for it.
