I have a thing for newscasters...

So Stephen Colbert is my boyfriend. I love him and I especially love when he sings. He's actually not too bad! Here is his most recent duet which I thoroughly enjoyed. Just wanted to share.

BTW... you don't need to tell me. I know he's not a real newscaster. But Matt Lauer and Anderson Cooper are. I just feel the need to group them all together.

Love Her? Love Her Not?

Listen! I have a serious love/hate relationship with the O! Last week I was so over her that I vowed to delete her from the tivo. There are moments where she drives me crazy! For example:
       * she always makes the cover of her magazine ... and let's be honest... there is a lot of air brushing!
*she does some sappy sad video montage to her dead dog, and then when the camera cuts  back to her she has to go to commercial because she is too emotional to speak... It's a dog!
*Sometimes I think she secretly thinks she is god and rules the world. Hate to break it to you O... just because your book club makes such a fuss doesn't mean we all need to bow down to ya!
*Just because you're skinnier than you used to be doesn't mean you can wear any outfit.
*She's friends with Tom Cruise AND John Travolta! Really?
*Her theme song used to be "I'm Every Woman"
*She hates singing in the car during road trips. The blasphemy!

But then there are days like today where I sit down to watch a few on the tivo and I find myself loving her and remembering all the reasons why...

*She has taught me what bra and jeans I should buy.
*She crowned some nice lady named Fanny queen for a day and then let my boyfriend Nate Berkus redo her house in New Orleans!
*She introduced me to my new favorite thing... My SIGG water bottle!
*She LOVES my man Obama!
*Her favorite things show! Many have become my favorite things too!
*Gayle!
*I secretly enjoy her awkwardness when people try to hug her.
*There have been countless times when I have found myself sitting on the couch crying as I watch her show.

So I will continue to tivo her, even though last week I vowed I was cutting her off.  Today there are just too many good things outweighing the bad.

One of My Favorite Times of the Year...

That's right people. It's something I look forward to every year... it's time for "Where In The World Is Matt Lauer?".  I love it! Not only do I love it because Matt Lauer is my boyfriend, but also because he takes us to amazing places! I always find somewhere new to put on my list of Places to See Before I Die (like Dubrovnik, Croatia!) So the anticipation begins... Where is he going to go? What amazing things is he going to show us? What presents is he going to bring back for Meredith, Ann, and Al?

He said adieu this morning. He even hugged Lenny goodbye! So set your tivos people. Next week is going to be good.

One of My Many Addictions...

I am obssessed with the Aquaphor! It is amazing as chapstick, for cuts, or dry hands. Really people... it's a miracle cure!

Little People, Big World

I LOVE the Roloff Family! I love Monday nights when I can curl up and watch their show "Little People, Big World". I think Matt is crazy with all his hair - brained ideas, Amy is a really great mom, and Zach is my favorite. he cracks me up! Today they were on Oprah and I was very excited to find it on my tivo. They send a great message about embracing all types of people. Plus they have a great pumpkin patch! I plan on visiting Roloff Farms one day...

Giving a Shout Out...

Today I'm giving a shout out to the kind stranger who made my day.

While I was stopped at a red light leaving BYU campus he crossed the crosswalk in front of me. When he was right in front of my car he turned toward me and busted out some AWESOME break dance moves, then turned around and continued walking as if nothing had happened.

So... to you Mr. Corduroy suit with the suede elbow patches and the gelled down side parted hair... thank you for being the Lord of the Break Dance today. You made me laugh out loud!

What Ever Happened to Shelly Long?

My old roomie and I used to ask each other that question all the time... Whatever happened to Shelly Long? We haven't seen her much since Troop Beverly Hills.

There are many other stars from my childhood that I wonder the same thing about.

For example: Whatever happened to Scott Bakula of Quantum Leap fame?

I'll tell you what happened to him! He became a great singer and a pretty dang good tap dancer. Who knew?! I saw him this past weekend in a fabulous production of "Dancing in the Dark" at the Old Globe theater in San Diego. I was so impressed! And so happy to finally know where he was.

Now for Cherry from Punky Brewster...

A Day in Pompeii

I went home to San Diego last week to spend a little time with the fam and escape the schizophrenic Utah weather. While there we decided to enjoy a day at the Natural History museum in Balboa Park and visit the Pompeii exhibit.

It was amazing! I was so intrigued by all the many things they were able to find. There were some beautiful pieces. The plaster casts of the bodies they found were also incredible. I love history and learning more about those
who came before us. It was a fascinating exhibit and if it ever comes your way I would highly recommend it.

My little sister Ems' favorite thing...

                                                            the break dancing dog!

Giving a Shout Out...

Today I'm giving a shout out to my man Barack. Let's all hope he does well in Pennsylvania!

This my friends is my latest obsession...

I consider myself to be somewhat of a connoisseur of the fro yo. I won't lie - up to this point fro yo from the Maverick gas station was my fav (kinda WT, i know!).

But my life has been changed by the PINKBERRY! I could eat it everyday.

I don't know who thought it up, but whoever you are I could kiss you! Thank you for bringing a small original with blackberries, strawberries and granola into my life!

I'm jumping on the bandwagon...

I have finally succumbed to the world of blogging. I have been a reader of blogs for many moons, but like any other technological advances I am always the last to join in. Here goes...
