One of the many things that I learned at
Education Week today is that there is such a thing as
"Melissophobia".
Seriously,
it's a word.
Luckily, the definition is not
a person who has a fear of people named
Melissa.
(Although, I have been known to scare off a few people in my day!)
It is a fear of
BEES!
How ironic is it that I my name means "honey bee",
and yet I am allergic to them.
So next time you run screaming from a bee,
just think of me!

FIRST OFF, let me tell you that I already knew that MELISSA meant honeybee. In greek. I remember b/c when I was in 3rd grade my friend gave me a little laminated card she found at a bookstore with my name in a beautiful cursive with the meaning. It's been my book mark for years. Me thinks I still have it.
SECONDLY, with that awesome background, you'd think that I'd have known that "Melissaphobia" was a legit thing. Who knew?!
That's what I love about your blog---you're always giving me a REAL education. Who cares that I'm not in college anymore, b/c I read "Life, Love and a Lil' Sauce".
Also, Darn Em let me borrow HUNGER GAMES and when she came to visit I stayed up for 3 nights in a row---super duper late---to finish it. I didn't want to read it in the day time b/c that was quality sister hang out time. SO, I read it at night. LOVED it. Oh Katniss.
Can't wait to start on the 2nd one so I too can read the 3rd with y'all.
