Whenever I bake a potato I always make sure I poke A LOT of holes in it,
because ever since my mother read the Little House series to me when I was young
and I heard the story of Almonzo getting a face full of searing hot baked potato ...
I have been afraid of exploding potatoes.

There has never been a time that I have cooked a potato
and not thought about poor Manly's burned face.

now see... my husband doesn't believe me about the exploding potato thing. i always poke it like my mom did and he doesn't believe me. so glad to know i'm not crazy. poor manly!
